Club Description:
Broadway Club is for students grades 9-12 who would like to take a trip to New York City's theater district to see a play on Broadway. We take a chartered bus to the city and do a quick walking tour of the area, eat lunch at a fun restaurant, and then head to the show (previously chosen by the students in the club). You do not have to be an actor to join, just enjoy the best theater anywhere in the world!
Depending upon the year and circumstances, we have also taken trips to Washington DC, and Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster County.
We meet semi-regularly in flex to discuss and complete fundraising (we usually do two fundraisers a year because the shows aren't cheap), and to do business regarding the shows (previewing and choosing a show, preparing for the meals, bus ride, show, etc.). During club meetings, we also watch Broadway shows and discuss musicals.
The tickets are limited. When a bus is full, it's full, and no more students can attend. So if you join the club, stick with it and pay your deposits on time to be sure you can get to NYC in the spring!
