A Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship is offered to seniors through the Manufacturer’s Association of Central PA. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience, practical skills, and a solid foundation in the world of advanced manufacturing. Upon completion of this program, students will obtain an OSHA 10 Credential, as well as 64 hours towards a PA Registered Apprenticeship program. Students selected for this program will miss approximately 10 school days throughout the year.
An Electrician Pre-Apprenticeship is offered to seniors through the Independent Electrical Contractors’ (IEC) Aspire to Be An Electrician program. This is a college-level on-line course with a weekly virtual meeting in the evening. Students learn how to identify and use hand tools, electrician basic math and metric, basic wiring concepts and installation, identification of fixtures, switches, and receptacles, understand the NEC codebook, and identify common electrical symbols. Students who successfully complete this year long program will receive a completion certificate from IEC and the Department of Labor & Industry as well as the opportunity to apply into the IEC PA Apprenticeship Program to continue their electrical career pathway.
