In this month, we learnt about Binomial Expansion, a part of the 'series'. It is one long equation which can help find answers to questions in the form of (a + b)^n. It was pretty interesting so I searched more about it and found out about the way it is used in real life.
In this month, we completed many things. One of the new things that I learned is the circular measure chapter. It was all about a new way of writing angles; in radians. We also learned new, revised formulas for the Arc Length and Sector Area of a Circle. Hence, I tried to implement it on a real-life object, a ceiling fan in this case. I took the central part of the fan as my subject and found the radius of it. Then I marked a sector, then found the area of the sector and the perimeter of the same.
Before we moved to our other coursebook on probability and statistics, we as a class tried to revise back to the content that we had already learnt in IGCSE. To do this, I and my classmates were allotted various topics, and I got Cumulative frequency graphs as my topic. I made this presentation and got a few questions as the exit ticket for the other students in my class. This helped me improve my previous knowledge which helped me in solving the questions efficiently and effectively.
This month, we shifted towards the other coursebook on probability and statistics. While learning, we came to the topics, Probability and Probability Distribution. This topic talked about being able to predict events in a mathematical way. While doing this, I did some research on the ways in which this topic is in action in real-world scenarios. In the end, I made a presentation that had a summary of my research for my future reference.
This month, we had to prepare for the upcoming math day. We had to think of topics which we could take up as our display We played on the theme of the real-life implications of various mathematics concepts. One corner was dedicated to the implications in other subjects while the other corner talked about the implications of mathematics in real life problems. My team and I chose the topic "Circular Measure". It had two important formulae which we explained using real-life situations and helped the audience understand the importance of these concepts in real-life.
This month,
