Week Three- March 19th
featuring the Shen Jazz Faculty, East Concert Band, West Concert Choir, East String Ensemble, 8th Grade Band and Middle School Chamber Orchestra
At Shenendehowa, our teachers love to play music as much as we love to teach! In this video, members of our instrumental faculty got together from a distance to perform the Bruno Mars hit "Treasure".
The High School East Concert Band recently brought both cohorts of students together for a socially-distanced rehearsal and recording session. The following performances of Claude T. Smith's March on an Irish Air and Richard Saucedo's With Each Sunset (Comes the Promise of a New Day) are a result of their efforts.
West Concert Choir performs 'Til The Stars Fall From the Sky, arranged by Jay Althouse. Our 9th Graders take on the challenge of rehearsing in the auditorium this year, then taking home what they learn to record their voice part on their own.
Shenendehowa High School String Ensemble recently played this tango from Argentina. Performing is the A-L cohort recording at school and some CVL students recording at home.
The 8th grade bands have been recording their work during their rehearsals in the Gowana Auditorium. Here is the A Day Band's electrifying performance of Randall Standridge's High Voltage.
The Tri-Building Middle School Chamber Orchestra recently presented a virtual concert performing "Blue Ridge Run" by Alan Lee Silva. Each cohort had a recording session with in-person students, and CVL students sent in individual recordings that were edited together for the final product.
The Chamber Orchestra is currently preparing "Conquistador" by Deborah Baker Monday, and recorded an in-person rehearsal with online students participating from home.
