Physical Certification

Only the school nurse can inform a student- athlete of the status of the physical that is on file with the district. It will be up to the student-athlete to visit their school nurse after our first team meeting in June. Please note that physical certification is a PROCESS THAT BEGINS IN JUNE AND ENDS IN AUGUST when the student-athlete's name is officially placed on a clearance document that is provided to all fall coaches. If a student-athlete's name does not appear on this document they WILL NOT be eligible to practice until cleared and added by a school nurse.

  • Due to schools and buildings being closed we are NOT having summer physicals this year. If this changes, we will determine when we will/can hold them for the 2020-21 school year.
  • If a student-athlete had a physical in either the 2018-19 OR 2019-20 school year they are eligible to RECERTIFY ONLY for a Fall 2020 Sport.
  • If a student-athlete DID NOT have a physical in the 2018-19 or 2019-20 school year they MUST have a physical to participate in a Fall 2020 Sport.
  • Recertification is the SAME process that we currently use for student-athletes with a current physical who want to participate in any sport season.
  • If a student-athlete has a pre-existing condition (asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, heart issues, etc) the School Nurse will determine their eligibility to participate with the current physical and recertification form. In other words, certain pre-existing conditions MAY require the student to follow up with their primary physician or obtain a written release in order to be cleared. Again, this decision is at the discretion of the School Nurse.
