Unit of Study: Science

We study space, the stars and planets this month for our Unique Learning Topic. Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving will be our celebrated holidays! Special Days begin with World Kindness Day and I Love to Write Day

This Month's Vocabulary

Each month our librarian, Ms Pierce provides us with a selection of books that align to our theme!

We review vocabulary in many ways each day!

Creating Telescopes

Galaxy in a Jar Project

For Veternas Day we thanked Ms Judi for her service and made a wreath for our window!

Re potting plants donated by Ms Barb, our substitute aide. We will be taking good care of them in our Learning Center.

Students chose cards, and who to deliver them to, on World Kindness Day!

Taking a break between classes in the Chill Out chair!

We are starting to set up our individual student schedules!

Students chose adjectives for each letter of their name to complete acrostic poems on World I Love to Write Day!

Then...we made salt dough and created our initials out of clay....we will paint them Monday!

We have PE 3x a week....it is a LOT of fun...everyone LOVES Coach Halpurn!

We celebrated World Hello Day today! We started the day by learning how to say "Hello" in 10 languages! This special day focuses on world peace and encourages each of us to support the idea by just saying "Hello" to at least 10 people! We made "Hello" cards and distributed them throughout the school to encourage others to do the same!

Ms Nadia attended a training at BOCES Friday in preparation for administering New York State Alternate Assessments to all the MOVE2 students. The computerized assessment window begins March 9th and continues until June 5th. Parents will be receiving more information as the assessment date approaches!

Students were busy making "Planet Cookies" while the teacher was at the training. Looks like someone couldn't resist a nibble of Saturn!

This week our learning turns to a holiday theme. Using the Mystery Science curriculum we learned "What that red thing on a turkey is called" and why male turkeys are so colorful! Then, in the Gobbler Wobbler project based activity we built turkey models that performed wobbly dances!
