Video is a powerful learning tool. There are many great resources you have access to for quality educational videos. We have subscriptions to Discovery Education and access to YouTube. There is Khan Academy and many more. Sometimes though, it is necessary to make our own instructional videos. Some basic rules to consider when creating your own instructional videos are the following:

1. Short is better - Keep videos at 5 minutes or less.

2. Be personable and engaging during the video.

3. Be concise when giving instructions. Use annotations tools to direct students' attention.

4. Remember some students to not have broadband, so consider reducing the resolution of your video. For whatever tool you use, the Help section can show you how to do this. Also, one of the articles speaks directly to the issue of weak Internet connections.
