Math 6 is a required core curriculum course. The course covers a wide variety of concepts including number patterns, introductory algebra, statistics, graphs, decimals, fractions, ratio, percent, proportions, circles, area and perimeter.
The course will extend the students existing knowledge base, developing deep mathematical understandings required for abstract learning. The students will construct a more advanced understanding of math through active learning experiences and will apply math as a tool in solving real life problems.
A. Bring to class daily.
1. Pencils, erasers and highlighters
2. Essential Binder (Planner, homework folder, and pencil pouch)
3. Chromebook AND earbuds/headphones
B. Students need a 2 inch 3-ring binder, with at least 4 dividers. Math packets will be used and will be stored in the student’s binder which is kept in the classroom.
C. Students are expected to have their Chromebook EVERY class, charged and ready to use. We use Google Classroom several times a week and the Chromebook is a necessary tool for instruction.
