Under general supervision, the incumbent of this position performs intermediate maintenance

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledge:

including but not limited to electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC; and knowledge in operating

Skills:

Abilities:

Maintain the flow of raw product through the pool and conveyors by matching the processing rate to ensure smooth and efficient production.
Remove any debris from incoming materials that should not be processed with edible products according to quality standards, customer specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). This includes, but is not limited to: Leaves, cross cores, rocks, wood, etc.
Remove any damaged or inadequate raw materials (i.e. spoiled or rotten apples) that cannot and should not be processed with edible products according to quality standards, customer specifications and SOP’s.
Remove and dispose of debris as needed according to SOP’s.
Adjust line speeds to maintain a steady and appropriate flow of apples through the grading area, to include the peeling area, as well as the canner pool.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area around the apple pool and grading area.
Regular and reliable attendance required.

Job Summary: The High Speed Line Packer is responsible for ensuring clean pouches meeting specification for the specific product flavor are manually packed into the correct retail or shipping container, sealing the containers, and stacking the completed containers onto pallets as finished product. The Packer ensures that each package has the correct pouch count, identifying codes and labels, and is organized for shipment onto pallets by their specific flavor, as required, and / or as directed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Follow packaging and customer specifications to verify correct pallet types, patterns, slip sheets, tie sheets, and corner boards.
Rotate between packing, overwrapping and stacking functions.
Hand pack pouches into cartons; remove and replace case labels, inspect pouches for defects according to customer specifications.
Identify, manually position and adjust packaging units and pack patterns in the correct orientation as
needed for continuous and efficient product flow according to customer specifications.
Manually form trays, cartons and hand set boxes as needed.
Manually stack product onto pallet with care to ensure stability of product for forklift removal.
Visually inspect conveyors and other tables prior to start up for cleanliness and operational issues.
Manually stack empty pallets for removal.
Remove pallets with loose boards, nails or breaks and boxes with damage or unacceptable code dates.
Record hourly checks for auditing and customer specification requirements to determine labels, leakers, codes, film alignment, carton sealing and production numbers.
Verify pouch and packages are correct for the production run; ensure box codes and labels are correct,
as well as the correct counts per box and case.
Clean pouches of all dirt and debris for customer appeal and consumption; identify & sort out dirty or damaged pouches and totes.
Apply correct labels and stickers to each finished cartons and cases as needed.
Watch product flow both on incoming and outgoing feed conveyors, adjusting as needed for continuous
and efficient production flow.
Report any mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Continually observe for cross contamination or foreign objects in the packaging.

Responsible for accurately and safely completing picking and storage tasks via operation of powered industrial equipment including stand-up high lift, reach trucks or dock stockers
Post-offer background check & drug screen are required
Responsibilities
Accurately pick product quantities or store product in assigned locations
Assemble containers and maintain supplies in an organized manner
Effectively communicate with associates and display teamwork in completing task assignments
Maintain inventory integrity and product safety at all times
Execute tasks utilizing hand-held RF units / scanners
Follow all established standard operating procedures for given task areas
Accurately sort, label, and store picked product safely in containers or on pallet
Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management
Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA standards and adhere to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures set by the organization
