What We Do

Journey Grants

The primary goal of the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation has always been to fund grants that directly impact student achievement and classroom culture.

In the Spring of 2022, our awarded grants topped more than $28,000! The Foundation awarded 19 grants totaling more than $25,000 to classrooms throughout the county, and 7 teachers seeking National Board Certification received grants as well.

Imagine the Journey Grants

Imagine the Journey Grants ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in our county’s students. If they can dream it, we want to fund it. The goal is to encourage our students to play a role in their education journey and make a difference in their schools for themselves and those that follow. Shelby County Schools students in grades 6-12 are eligible to apply for grants that can fun individual student initiatives or group projects and activities that will enhance their learning experience. These applications must be student generated and will be awarded in the Spring.

Grant applications are currently closed.

Inspire the Journey Grants

Inspire the Journey Grants are available for teachers in Shelby County Schools. These grants are specifically geared to promoting quality teaching and enhanced learning throughout Shelby County Schools. Innovative classrooms keep students engaged and keep teachers inspired professionally which in turn inspires and engages student learning.
