Mrs. Gunnels

About Mrs. gunnels

I am the inclusion teacher for 6th grade red team! This is my 9th year teaching inclusion, but my 10th year teaching students (I taught 5th grade for 1 year).  I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Collaborative Teaching K-12. I grew up and still live in Chelsea. I have been married for 10 years to Taylor, who is a Battalion Chief at Cahaba Valley Fire Department and a Lieutenant at Chelsea Fire Department. We have a 4.5 pound, 13 year old dog, Moses, who is the best. dog. ever! I also have a niece, Charlie, and a nephew, Cain.

Sports have always been a major part in my life. I grew up playing baseball (yep, with the boys) until 6th grade and basketball. Throughout high school, I played softball and basketball all 4 years, and I also played volleyball my 9th grade year. I have an older brother who is the offensive coordinator at Tulane University (ROLL WAVE!). I am also the 8th grade volleyball coach at OMMS - we would love your support at our games!

Outside of school, you will find me doing arts and crafts, building something with my husband, or maybe even fishing! :)
