2023 - 2024 Back to School Night

We would like to invite you to attend our Back to School Night on August 15 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm. During this time we share with you a snapshot of what students experience each day at SMS.

The doors to the building will open at 6:00pm. The night starts with an open house format for parents to walk the building, stop in a few classrooms, or try out a locker.

Starting at 6:20pm the school will run on a brief seven period schedule where teachers will share their expectations, curriculum, and other details pertaining to their class. This is a GREAT time to see the middle school, meet the administration and faculty of SMS, and experience our daily routine. We look forward to seeing you!

Water Bottles

Please feel free to bring a bottle of water to use throughout the day. Students can fill up their bottles at our stations and carry them to class.

SMS Backpack Expectations

Students are not to carry book bags, oversized cinch sacks, large purses or like items from class to class. These items are to remain in the student lockers for security and safety reasons. Purses, small satchels or mini cinch bags no bigger than the size of an iPad will be permitted in class. These items must be kept on the corner of the student's desk, hanging from the desk's chair, or in a teacher designated location in the classroom.

SMS and SHS students will still be allowed to bring backpacks to school. The expectation will be for students to store their backpacks in their lockers throughout the day.
