Week 1 is all about getting to know one another and all about SMS! GO Bears!

Wednesday: We will be busy on our first day! We will review classroom procedures and our syllabus, SMS procedures, and learn about each other.  If time allows, we will tour the school. Look for a letter coming home with your student! 

Thursday:  We will write a letter to reading and writing today! We will also complete some more getting-to-know-you activities. We are going to learn all about each other so we can be a community of readers, writers, and thinkers. 

Friday: It's time to get tech-savvy! We will be setting up and practicing with Google Drive and Google Classroom by creating new work and writing silly sentences. We may even have time to sneak in a Kahoot! Remember to return the parent signature page  and Honors Contract by Monday!

In sixth grade, all students have Language Arts for two class periods a day. Often, students will be able to complete their work in class. If not, it will need to be completed at home and returned to school the next day.

I will post weekly to our classroom website the week’s agenda. In addition, our Google Classroom is updated daily, and almost all work is available there. If a student is absent, checking Classroom will be the quickest way to get the needed information. Often, assignments can be completed and submitted electronically.
