As we near the end of the semester, I have been keeping tabs on high school students' credits to help keep them on track for graduation. I checked in with all the seniors about their grades, credits, and plans for after graduation. A letter was sent home to senior parents with information about another opportunity to take the ACT, FAFSA info, and some scholarship information.
This month the counseling focus will be on resiliency and how it can be built and strengthened to persevere through life's challenges and obstacles.
I'm Ronnie Watterud, the 6-12 school counselor. I've been in education since 2015. I worked for 8 years as a teacher before I shifted to a school counselor role in 2023. I enjoy spending time with my husband, three kids, and two dogs, as well as reading, baking, and traveling around the state! I'm honored to be working in Shelby with great colleagues, students, and families.
I'm here for all students to support them in their academics, post-graduation plans, and mental health and wellness. The best way for students to meet with me would be to make an appointment by email or through the google form, so I can make sure I am available for them!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns!
