About Shelburne Historical Society
Through the years, groups such as the Historic Sites Committee have worked on specific projects to collect and preserve documents and photographs that chronicle Shelburne’s history.
In 2013, the Town of Shelburne commemorated the 250th anniversary of the founding charter. As a result of the successful celebration, the organizing 250th Committee decided to form a new Shelburne Historical Society incorporating in May of 2014.
Our Mission
Bring alive the history and cultural heritage of Shelburne, Vermont because we believe an understanding of the past enriches lives and builds better communities.
Goals and Vision
Bring together people with a common interest in the history of Shelburne, Vermont.
Collect, preserve, catalog, interpret, publish and exhibit materials relating to the history of Shelburne, Vermont.
Promote and encourage research on and the study of local Shelburne history.
Work with schools in encouraging youth to become actively engaged in the mission of the Shelburne Historical Society so that the Town’s history and cultural heritage will be passed on to future generations.
