We aim to post here comments and reflections on / related to the ongoing activities
The project will start at the end of September with workshops and seminars at UFRJ. However, the roots of the project go back in 2015 or even further back.
After two intensive weeks in Rio de Janeiro, it looks like we are starting to have more clarity about where we are planning to go with the project. My hosts from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro have been working on the project about industrial remnants for four years. Now, we can think about adding a new layer/dimension to it. The most straightforward approach would be to look at the urban spaces from the perspective of infrastructure, in our case, 'religion as infrastructure'. It allows us to move smoothly from the industrial and auxiliary infrastructure of the past to the current usage of buildings and spaces for social, spiritual, and commercial needs.
