PhD Researcher (2024-2028)
Geovanni a is a PhD researcher in the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biological Engineering (CMBE) at the University of Sheffield. He is supervised by Dr. Brant Walkley and Prof. Solomon Brown and is a part of the Sustainable Materials at Sheffield (SMASH) research group. He also has industrial supervision from Dr Stephen Farris and the Encapsulant Integrated Research Team at Sellafield Ltd.
Geovanni completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Sheffield in 2023. After graduation, Geovanni worked as a process safety consultant on projects across the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemicals and defence industries. Additionally, he is now a part of the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MAC) as a research assistant focusing on water quality and treatment.
Geovanni’s PhD research focuses on Understanding Clays and Filler Loadings in Portland-Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3) to Establish Near and Medium-Term Security of Supply and Capability. His research is funded by Sellafield Ltd., and an EPSRC DTP scholarship.
