Sheffield Interpersonal Violence and Abuse Research Network

The University of Sheffield Interpersonal Violence and Abuse Research (ShIVAR) network is an interdisciplinary group. The members of the group come from the fields of health, social sciences, arts and humanities. We believe an interdisciplinary approach to understanding gender-based interpersonal violence and abuse is essential.

The Sheffield Interpersonal Violence Research Network aims to develop knowledge about interpersonal abuse, violence and how it should be managed. The group aims to provide a platform for researchers, practitioners and those interested in the field to network with each other and to identify interdisciplinary and collaborative ways of working. The group’s focus is gender-based interpersonal violence and abuse and its various forms that affect the life of individuals, families and children.

Anyone with an interest in violence and abuse research is welcome to join the University of Sheffield interpersonal violence network. Academics, community members and students are encouraged to join and get involved in academic research projects and discussions.
