Formed in 1916 at the University of Sheffield by Dr W.E.S Turner, the Society of Glass Technology (SGT) publishes journals and textbooks, organises conferences and coordinates special interest groups with the aim of advancing glass technology. In addition to collaboration and publication, the Society is the custodian of a number of printed collections held at the University of Sheffield.

If you wish to view the Elmfield Collection please make an appointment with Special Collectons, Heritage and Archives at the University of Sheffield.
You can view the titles held within the main collection at Western Bank Library by visiting (during staffed hours) as an external reader. Please note that titles are held in multiple areas within the library. If you would like specific titles to be made available when you visit, please contact Emily Herron, Liaison Librarian - e.herron@sheffield.ac.uk
