Game preview: LJMU Fury away

8 February 2019

The sting of defeat from last week’s match against the Hallam Warriors has not lessened over the past few days. But rather than letting it bring them down, the Sabres took this as a humbling experience. Throughout the season the Sabres rush defence has been nothing short of incredible, averaging just 29-yards allowed over the first five games of the season. Against Hallam on Sunday, the Sabres defence allowed 198-yards of rushing, a statistic they’ll want to forget quickly.

Their next match against the LJMU fury will be a tough one for the black and gold. LJMU heavily rely on their rush offense and are currently fighting to stay in Division 1. The last time the two teams faced each other was homecoming, were the Sabres came out on top 24-6. This will be test for the Sabres, as a win here will almost currently be enough for playoff football and they still stand to improve upon last season’s performance.
