Degree Classification

The modules you take at years 2 and 3 (and year 4 if you’re on a four-year programme) form the basis of your degree classification. Your first-year grades do not count towards this.

Your degree classification is determined by calculating: 

1. your weighted average grade; and 

2. the distribution of your weighted grades

The grades you obtain for individual modules are weighted according to (i) the number of credits that each module is worth; and (ii) the Higher Education Level at which each module is studied.

Extenuating Circumstances 

Please report any extenuating circumstances to the level administrator in your department using this form to ensure your circumstances are considered before your degree is classified.
