Managing your time to meet your deadlines is an important skill for success both at University and in future employment. It is important, therefore, that you do your best to hand in all work on time.
If you submit work to be marked after the deadline your mark will be reduced by 5% for each working day that the work is late after the deadline. A working day includes working days within standard vacation times. For example, if a submission date falls on the last day before the start of the Easter vacation, penalties would start to be applied from the following working day and not from the first day following the vacation.
If you submit your work more than 5 days late, your work will not be marked and it will be given a module outcome of NC (not completed).
If you submit a piece of work late for a resit, the penalty will be applied first, then, this mark will be capped at 40 in line with the Genral Regulations on resits.
See the table below for examples.
Maximum word limit
If your assignment gives a maximum word limit then any words included over this limit will not be read or assessed.
The maximum word limit DOES NOT include end references or the title
The maximum word limit DOES include ‘in text’ references
Submission Instructions
All coursework should be submitted using the relevant coversheet and reflection sheet (if applicable) – these can be found in the module folder within Blackboard.
All work should be uploaded via Turnitin using the following ‘submission title’:
Full Module Number_Registration Number i.e. PSY2005_200399999
If either or both of these two instructions are not followed, an automatic 1 mark penalty will apply
It is YOUR responsibility to read the submission instructions for the relevant coursework. Denial of seeing this information regarding incorrect submission, is not grounds for overturning a penalty.
