My research deals with understanding the impacts of tree planting on carbon stocks in the uplands of the UK under the Wilder Peak programme with the Peak District as a case study. In this, I also explore stakeholders' preferences for rewilding and attitudes towards landscape changes, and potential trade-offs with food production and other ecosystem services due to land-use change.

I'm also interested in science writing and have produced various pieces for Research Matters in India.  Some of my writings also include feature articles for print media.
