PrintCity, at Manchester Metropolitan University, is not a traditional 3D printing lab.
It’s a high-performance environment running 100+ machines daily where real deadlines matter and data drives continuous improvement.
In this case study, we explore how PrintCity:
• Supports companies in adopting additive manufacturing
• Uses data to optimise print success and reduce failures
• Trains students in real-world industrial conditions
More than a lab — a model for accelerating innovation.
In this episode of the Centre for Sustainable Innovation Podcast we're talking 3D printing! Our presenter Mirage Islam FRSA is joined by Mark Chester from the Centre for Digital Innovation, and Carl Diver Professor in Innovative Manufacturing.
In the conversation we cover the steps that businesses need to cover and the questions they need to ask before investing in and implementing 3D printing.
If you're interested in exploring innovations in 3D printing or other technologies, perhaps the Centre for Sustainable Innovation can help your business access the experts, resources and skills required to build a prototype or prepare your new innovation for market.
AMRC hosted a launch event for the North West Additive Manufacturing Forum on March 20 at its site in Samlesbury, Lancashire. The event included talks from partners, including Additure, UCLan and Renishaw on the current AM landscape and the future outlook. It also included a word from Chris Mayne on his involvement in developing the Electech Innovation Cluster and the importance of collaboration.
