Module choice is made in accordance with the Programme Regulations. Each year is composed of 120 credits worth of modules. Credits should be split evenly between semesters, with no more than 70 credits in each semester.
The Education Support Team will approve your choices once you have submitted them to the online system. If you have chosen a module in a different School, this will be approved online by both staff at our School and the School which owns the module. If your module choice is not approved, you will receive a message via the online Module Choice system, or via email, depending on the complexity of the situation.
You will have the opportunity to change your options via the module add/drop system at the beginning of each semester.
Module details are available via this site, so you have as much information as possible to help you make your optional choices. You should note the following:
For each module, an academic contact has been identified on the basis of expertise and prior teaching. The module leader will be confirmed before the start of the academic year.
The content of our courses is reviewed annually to make sure it is up-to-date and relevant. Optional modules are occasionally withdrawn due to insufficient recruitment. Should this happen, we will inform students in good time and make every effort to minimise disruption.
If you have any questions about Module Choice, please contact the Education Team at slas-studentenquiries@sheffield.ac.uk.
