About the survey

Calling all Maternal Journal practitioners!

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we’re looking to hear from you! Researchers in the School of Education at the University of Sheffield are conducting a survey into Maternal Journal practice in the UK and globally. Your experiences of running groups and leading workshops is really important to us as we want to learn more about the international community around Maternal Journal.

Since its inception in 2017, there has been a rapid take-up of maternal journaling groups and workshops among practitioners around the world. Your involvement in this survey will help us to map out what is happening and gain insights into the many ways in which Maternal Journal is being taken up. Based on the information we gather, we will make our findings accessible to different audiences, including through an academic publication and through visual communications. To find out more, please visit our survey information pages.

The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete and is open until 30th November 2024. Please follow the link to the survey here

We’re also delighted to share with you our new Maternal Journal film, which explores the experiences of practitioners in running groups and reports on some of the research which has been carried out in West Yorkshire

The survey is being carried out by researchers in the School of Education at the University of Sheffield, led by Dr Jessica Bradley, Senior Lecturer in Literacies and Language. Please do get in contact with Jessica if you have any questions - jessica.bradley@sheffield.ac.uk. The project was granted ethical approval by the University Research Ethics Committee reference 062907.
