COVID, COP26 and urban schools – live event at the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences

Dr Alison Buxton, Programme Manager of Maker{Futures}, will join researchers from the Sheffield Urban Institute in a live panel debate exploring what role schools should play in their urban communities.

How have schools supported families and communities – beyond online learning – during COVID? And what are the lessons for how schools can contribute to wider goals, such as a cleaner and greener environment?

Followed by a question and answer session with the online audience, this event is part of the 2021 ESRC Festival of Social Sciences. It is accompanied by an online showcase documenting the role of Arbourthorne Community Primary School in Sheffield before and during the ongoing pandemic.

You can find out more about this free event which takes place on Tuesday 2 November, 4.30pm - 6.00pm on the Urban Institute website. You can register on Eventbrite.
