Our project aims to explore the web crippling behaviour in cold-formed steel built-up beams composed of two channels. Critical parameters influencing the web crippling response will be investigated extensively. The connections between the elements will be optimized to achieve a higher capacity with less fabrication. The current design rules for cold-formed steel construction will be assessed for adequacy in predicting the strengths of cold-formed steel built-up beams composed of two channels. If necessary, improved design rules with better prediction capability and reliability will be proposed.Â
