Collaboration

In 2016, we piloted our research project with a team of researchers from Australia. This cross-national and cross-institutional collaboration led to a stronger understanding of the the nexus between informal sport, public space and urban governance. In 2022, the Australian team's project 'Social Resilience, Migrant Integration and Informal Sport in Public Space' was funded by Australia’s Research Council and will focus on Sydney (Australia) and Singapore as case studies. The Just Turn Up project team will be collaborating with the Australian team and exchanging experiences across our respective case study cities.

The Australian and Singapore research is led by Professor Amanda Wise (PI, Macquarie University), Assistant Professor Selvaraj Velayutham (Co-I, Macquarie University) and Dr Kristine Aquino (Co-I, University of Technology Sydney).
