Introduction to Stata 2021 is taking place 'virtually' at your own pace, over a period of up to 4 weeks, from Monday, 13th September 2021 up to and including Friday, 8th October 2021.

This course provides a basic overview of the uses and functions of the statistical software Stata, which includes:
Understanding the Stata interface(s)
Reading in data, and data manipulation
Help files and do files
Basic statistical analyses and graph production
After this course you should be able to:
Know the different windows, benefits and limitations of Stata
Import data and plot graphs in Stata
Create/ modify variables when needed
Utilise basic commands to analyse your data
Know how to proceed if/when you get stuck in the future
Who should attend this course?
This course is aimed at individuals with little or no experience in Stata (or those who have only used the drop-down system within Stata and wish to transition to the coding language). The delivery of this course is through live demonstration, with intermittent practical activities throughout the course to reinforce understanding. A basic knowledge of statistics is advantageous, but not essential.
