New monthly meetings for members
September 2023New monthly meetings for HEIG members - open to anyone interested in the theme. Alternating Tues and Thurs lunchtime meetings. Format: informal lunch followed by hybrid meeting with a discussion topic proposed by a different HEIG member each week.

New housing insecurity project started
October 2023The School for Public Health Research project lead by Hannah Fairbrother into Housing insecurity for families with children ha started and will run until 2025. This project aims to explore local authority strategies for reducing housing insecurity among families with children. We will develop a picture of current experiences of housing insecurity, the factors that drive housing insecurity and what information would help local authorities to provide better support to at-risk families.
Public engagement event on the night-time economy
November 2023Researchers in the School for Public Health Research will meet with people working in local government who work to improve health in the night-time economy in an online workshop in late November. The workshop will make space for sharing best practices, reserach skills and ideas for how to research inequalities from products sold in the night-time economy.
