Our research has been sponsored by grants from the Wellcome Trust, Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council UK, Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, EU Funding via Horizon 2020 for a Marie Currie Research Fellow, and recent PhD students funded by the Mexican Government Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT) scheme, who have funded grants and studentships in this area.
We continue to use a combination of site-directed mutagenesis, biochemical and biophysical assays to try to understand the molecular mechanisms operating in these interesting metalloenzymes. We collaborate with crystallographer Patrick Baker and Prof. Jon Waltho (an expert in NMR) in the School of Biosciences, both within the University of Sheffield.
