Getting Started with IT

IT Services basics such as changing your password, getting connected on campus, safe computing advice and getting help.

MUSE provides single log-in access to the majority of the University's online services and provides secure access off campus. 

Google Applications

Your university mail is provided by Google. Google Mail can be accessed both on and off campus by staff and students. It can be added to mobile devices to be accessed on the go.  

Google Meet enables you to host video meetings.  

Google Chat (also known as Google Hangouts Chat) is a messaging platform designed for collaborative team working.

Your university calendar is provided by Google. Google Calendar can be accessed both on and off campus by staff and students. It can be added to mobile devices to be accessed on the go to organise your days. 

Google Drive is an online storage system that allows you to store unlimited files and documents in one place.

Your Online Classroom

Blackboard is an online space for you to engage with course materials, assessment and feedback.

Collaborate is a virtual conferencing tool that allows you to join and take part in a live classroom session.

A discussion board is an online space where you can read, reply and post with the rest of your class at a time that suits you. Some discussion activities may have a deadline set by your instructor.

Your Online Assessment

Turnitin allows you to submit essays, reports and dissertations and get feedback on your writing.

Blackboard Assignments allow you to submit multiple pieces of assessment including reports, posters, video and audio. You can also get feedback on your work.

Blackboard tests and quizzes allow you to check your understanding and get feedback.
