Rob is a senior lecturer and the cluster lead for Molecular Microbiology in Sheffield. He has been interested in the Clostridia since starting as a postdoc in the lab of Prof Neil Fairweather at Imperial College London in 2005. He moved to Sheffield to establish the Clostridial Cell Biology group in 2013. Outside of work, Rob is a father of two (4 if you include 13 year old Cavalier King Charles Toby and 1 year old Labrador Pip!) - Caitlin (8) who has Angelman Syndrome and Jack (4) who has a mild Bluey obsession.

Anirudh is a PhD student at the lab. His initial research at the National Institute of Science Education and Research in India centred on Drosophila, bacterial cytoskeletal and plasmid segregation proteins. He later shifted his focus to phages, working with them briefly at the Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Biology before using them as the core of his PhD research. He now works on mutating C. difficile phages and understanding their mechanism using Cryo-EM. Outside of the lab, you will find him hiking in the peak district, mountain biking, gaming, or jamming with a piano.
