Have you ever wondered what it's like to work in local government?
The Social Sciences Employability team is hosting a Local Government Challenge day delivered by Impact, the graduate scheme for local government. This event will let you use your problem-solving skills and practical skills learnt in your degree. You’ll work in small teams to explore, discuss and research solutions to operational challenges experienced by local governments, and informally present and discuss your solutions with a professional working in the area. You’ll work on two challenges, so you’ll get to see multiple areas of work.
You'll also find out more about the Local Government Association and the Impact graduate scheme, a fast-track graduate programme for bright and passionate individuals who want to make a difference while excelling in their own careers. It offers the chance to work directly with communities, but also to influence policies and plans at a senior level - all while earning a graduate salary and completing a council-specific leadership and management qualification.
