The Faculty of Engineering has an amazing range of world leading research, of which most of us have little knowledge! This year's symposium aims to help all researchers learn about some of the 'Big Research Projects' that we are all part of at Sheffield. This will be through a series of informative presentations celebrating this work, plus we will have talks from the outgoing, and incoming, Head of Engineering Faculty. There is also a chance to share our own research in a 'Sustainable Development Goal' themed poster competition with prizes and the chance to have the winning "Engineering Researcher Poster 2023".
The Symposium will take place in Mappin Hall on 21 June 2023.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the Faculty of Engineering research staff and students to:
share, showcase and celebrate the latest world leading engineering research being undertaken at Sheffield;
present their work to peers;
network;
be formally recognised for the quality of your research and contribution to the research community.
The symposium is free to attend for Faculty of Engineering research staff and students and other Engineering staff, will include free lunch and refreshments, and include a selection of goodies.
Submit your poster for consideration by Friday 26th May *deadline extended to Friday 2nd June* using this Google Form. Selected posters will be judged firstly by theme and then the overall winner selected from the theme winners. The overall winner will receive a trophy and £200; theme winners will receive a runners up prize of £25.
To register your attendance, please accept the calendar invite as soon as possible (please contact Eunice Lawton in case you didn't receive the calendar invite).
This event is organised by a collaboration between the
Engineering Graduate School, Engineering PGR Student Committee, Engineering Researcher Society and Think Ahead
