Heartificial's goal was to design and build a total artificial heart replacement and compete in the Heart Hackathon. Their student-led interdisciplinary venture was committed to advancing cardiac health through innovation and collaboration and this project had the potential to make a real difference in the world of healthcare.
Rainwater Harvesting was a project undertaken by our Engineers Without Borders student group. They successfully completed construction in 2024, having built a rainwater harvesting shelter over the compost bays in the University allotment.
Project Jet 7 was aimed at building a fully functional jet suit. Their plans were to design and manufacture their own jet engines and flight control systems, as well as an AI voice assistant.
Project Avalon was aimed at creating an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
Avalon has now been reincarnated as Project Trident.
