A Starter's Guide to Dutch Library Resources

This handy guide gives you a detailed list of all the books in the library with information about the Netherlands or the Dutch language. It focuses on the books we thought would be the most useful to students who are just starting out in their studies of Dutch and of the Low Countries. We've arranged the books in seven categories, and within those alphabetically by title. We haven't done all the work for you: you'll have to go on Starplus to find the locations of the books for yourselves, but hopefully this guide will make finding relevant resources a bit easier!

There are plenty of resources on the internet (see the Online Resources section) but this website focuses on the books kept in the university's libraries - they are a vast untapped wealth of knowledge which not enough people know about or use.

If you're looking for a general overview of Dutch history and culture, have a look at the Miscellaneous section - that's where we've put all the books which touch on pretty much every aspect of the Netherlands within the space of a few pages. Not much detail but a lot of information!
