To protect and restore ecological balance in UK freshwater habitats by eliminating invasive crayfish species through student-led action.
We aim to engage University students in environmental stewardship by encouraging them to step up and embrace the responsibility of protecting our ecosystems - through scientific research, hands-on conservation and community outreach to combat the spread of invasive crayfish species in UK waters.
Conservation Action: Build a Remote Crayfish Trap that is effective and efficient in trapping the invasive species.
Awareness & Education: Raise awareness about the ecological impact of invasive crayfish through talks, campaigns, and collaborations with local councils.
Research: Collect data on the invasive crayfish population and publish our findings to contribute to the limited existing knowledge, helping researchers, policymakers, and conservationists make informed decisions and take meaningful action moving forward.
Policy Support: Advocate for better protections and stricter regulations around invasive species.
Community Building: Connect like-minded students, researchers, and conservationists through events and fieldwork.
