CBeebies Parenting - Text Service
CBeebies Parenting - Text Service
Weekly videos to help your child talk and learn
Your local Family Hub has partnered with us at University of Sheffield to offer a new free text service for families with children aged 6-36 months.
We have found this service can really help children with their talking, and parents like the practical ideas too.
How does it work?
Once you join, we will text you one short video every week, until the end of 2026. Here is what to expect:
👩💼 Texts sent by a real person so you can text back with questions
🙌 Trustworthy advice from Cbeebies Parenting and other trusted partners
💬 Experts available to text or call you if you need extra help with your child's talking
💡 Ideas for games and tips to try in every day routines
⚡ Super short videos
🛑 Stop at any time by replying 'STOP'
Is it right for me?
Will the videos be relevant for my child?
When you sign up, you will provide your child's age so the team can pick the best videos for you. If you find the videos aren’t suitable for your child, you can reply and have the videos adjusted or talk to an expert if you’d like.
What if I am worried about my child’s talking, or already receiving help with this?
You are still welcome to sign up and see if the service feels helpful. You can talk to the expert if you have questions, or stop at any time if it is not suitable.
We speak more than one language at home
That is great! You can still sign up. There is also a section on the Cbeebies Parenting wesbite all about using more than one language that you can look at.
My child is already talking a lot
Fantastic! The videos cover everything from first sounds babies make all the way up to building big sentences.
I have a question before I sign up
No problem! Please email The University of Sheffield team directly at cogdev.volunteers@sheffield.ac.uk.
