Planning and organising any research materials that support increasing transparency and rigour of the research project. This includes materials developed at any stage of the research process. For example:
Planning stage: Research proposal, pre-registration of research, ethics application, data management plan (DMP). The researcher needs to evaluate if it is necessary to inform research participants regarding the usage of ATI and obtaining relevant consents (such as for placing data in a repository for long term access).
Data collection: Registered reports, Research diaries / Fieldwork notes
Analysis: methodological and analytical notes, positionality statement.
Archiving, preserving data: links to repositories where data, codes and software are stored, DOIs of data sets, “readme” file from DMP for easy identification of key data sources.
Links to other data sources, for example: national statistics, digital archives, etc.
In collaborative writing and interdisciplinary research, each member of the research team should plan and develop:
Individual reports or research diaries regarding data collection, as well as methodological and analytical notes, notes around code creation, etc.
Summary of their disciplinary background, positionality statement, epistemic foundation, etc.
