NCEA Level 2 Spanish

Aims

Use language to express and justify your own ideas and opinions and support or challenge those of others
Use and identify language that enables you to respond critically to texts
Communicate information, ideas and opinions through increasingly complex and varied texts
Engage in sustained interaction and produce extended text

Course Content

Over the year we will study some of the following topics:

Friendships and relationships
Spanish speaking countries
Short stories or films or TV series
Health and well-being including the Māori model te whare tapa whā
Current events around the world
Travel and tourism
Technology and future use

We often choose topics as a class so the list above is just an approximate guide of what we may study.

As part of your Internal assessment component you will create two of the following standards: an interaction portfolio; a writing portfolio; a speech.

Assessment

There are three internal assessment tasks to choose from, you will complete two. Externally assessed standards are examined nationally at the end of the year.

Qualification Gained

Full course completion - 19 or 20 credits in NCEA Spanish Level 2

Students will choose between 2.2, 2.3 and 2.5
