As part of service projects for sociology at SHC, students are involved in running a reentry simulation that places leaders of various agencies in the 'shoes' of a previously incarcerated person, as they navigate back into society. These reentry simulation events occur monthly at different locations in Mobile County. Contact Dr. Semien (dsemien@shc.edu) to participate in the next one.
The Reentry Simulation was developed by the Springfield, MO Reentry & Resources work-group, which includes various agencies. These agencies collaborated to provide real-life situations for the simulation based on social services, career, probation, courthouse, and drug counseling. This simulation is available to use and adapt to your community. Contact Lisa Landrigan at llandrigran@bop.gov for more information.
The Reentry Toolkit has been provided below in a publicly accessible Google Drive Folder. It contains all of the necessary information to set up and run your own simulation within your community.
