Community Outreach
The department began an outreach program in 2011 called Partners in Science. Through PinSci, the department adopts one or more local 8th grade Physical Science classes and visits monthly to conduct labs with the students. Most recently, the Honors General Chemistry I lab partnered with Most Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic School and visited 4 times over the course of the semester to conduct laboratory activities on Density, Conductivity of Solutions, pH of Solutions, and Atoms & Subatomic Particles (through cookies!).
