Class overview:
Belizean Studies is a four-year secondary-level program designed to be scheduled for a minimum of one hundred and eighty teaching minutes per week.
Belizean Studies focuses on the geographical space contained within and culturally connected to Belize from the time of early humans in Africa to the present day. It uses techniques and concepts of anthropology, geography, history, literature and sociology to explore the environmental, political, economic, social, cultural and technological origins and development of Belize in a global context.
Knowledge is intriguing because it opens the door to understanding the complexities of our world. It fuels curiosity, inspires creativity, and empowers critical thinking. Each piece of information acts as a puzzle piece, revealing a clearer picture of our environment and culture. The pursuit of knowledge invites exploration and deepens our connections, making it a rewarding journey of discovery that enriches our lives.
Using digital tools in both live (synchronous) and self-paced (asynchronous) classes makes learning more engaging and personalized. These tools help you collaborate with your classmates and communicate more easily, enriching your discussions and teamwork. They also give you access to a wide range of resources and allow teachers to understand how you’re doing in your studies. Overall, using technology in education prepares you for future jobs and creates a more flexible and supportive learning environment.
