Chances are, if you live in the DMV and are serious about hockey, you’ve heard of Lyon Messier. If you haven’t, I’d like to introduce him digitally. Lyon is one of the best player development coaches ever. His passion and dedication to youths and the future of hockey show in every aspect of his coaching style. He hails from one of the best household names in hockey and puts that experience to work with these kids. If you have a chance to attend his morning sessions at Loudoun Ice Center, you’ll see just how detail-oriented he is. Lyon currently is the Director of Player Development for the Washington Little Caps and the President of Lyon Messier Hockey, one of the most competitive Spring Hockey organizations. Danny Keyes, the renowned goalie coach, mythic man, ice wizard, and silver bandit, has put together a colossal impact organization for local High School Hockey in the DMV. Hockey Night in NOVA is sure to go places, and you’ll not want to miss it. They’ve packed hundreds of students into tiny rinks and then blew the roof off the joint! The DMV is not known for large amounts of school hockey organizations, but Danny will change that and FAST! Highlighting and coordinating matchups with the local clubs, he’s growing the community whether it be future players or hockey fans, he’s sure to leave a giant mark on the area.
