We want to take a moment to introduce ourselves. We are the Heights Literacy Team, and we provide reading and writing support to students across the grade levels. In addition, we work closely with classroom teachers to provide instruction that is engaging, purposeful, and cohesive. We look forward to working in partnership with families toward our shared goal of developing accomplished readers and writers.
My name is Lisa Alves. I have been part of the Sharon Public School community for over twenty years as a parent, a fifth grade teacher, and for most of my career as a literacy specialist at Heights Elementary School. I have two daughters, and live in Sharon with my husband, Jason. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time at the beach on Cape Cod with family and friends, taking walks, cooking and baking, and of course, reading lots of wonderful books! I am so fortunate to be part of this dynamic partnership and the wonderful community at Heights Elementary School. Go Hedgehogs!
My name is Andrea Starr. I have been part of the Sharon Public Schools for twenty-seven years. I taught third and fourth grade before moving into the role of literacy specialist. I live in Canton with my husband, Kenny and my two daughters, Ava and Grace. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my Labradoodle, Jozie. During the summer I can be found boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and reading on the beach. In winter, I love to ski. I am lucky I get to do two of my favorite things all day long...reading and being read to. I am proud to be a member of the fabulous community at Heights Elementary School!
