Burrell School

Burrell School’s origins date back to 1854 when Lyman J. Burrell settled the rough wilderness that is now home to our winery and Estate vines. Carrying on the more than 130 year old tradition at the School, David and Anne Moulton began development of the Estate vineyard in 1973. At a 1,600 foot elevation, the site faces to the southwest. Soils are a complex mixture of loam and shale due to our close proximity to the San Andreas Fault.

Nearby Monterey Bay brings warm days and cool nights. This results in a unique microclimate, perfect for long, slow ripening of cool climate grapes.

Griffin Hill Vineyards

Welcome to Griffin Hill! We're a very small winery and vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA.  Each year, we make about 300 cases of wine.  Our goal is to make wines that are interesting, food-friendly and inspiring.  This is accomplished by hand-tending the vines and a patient, low-tech winemaking style that allows the flavor of the exquisite fruit grown in these hills to shine through.  Our facility is located in one of the most famous, yet so small as to rarely get mentioned, wine-growing areas of the world.  The Santa Cruz Mountains rise up between Silicon Valley and the Pacific Ocean.  While we recognize that many (most?) of the hard-working people in Silicon Valley barely take note of these beautiful mountains, it's now our mission to bring the exquisite taste of the wines which represent and capture the flavor of these mountains to the people of Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard

We believe wine should dance with food to make the experience more than the sum of the  ingredients.

This means making wines with moderate alcohol and oak so that the true characteristics of the grape varieties are expressed. You won’t find any high-alcohol, jammy, oaky wines here. In 2008 we launched a second brand, Quinta Cruz, which features only varieties that originated on the Iberian Peninsula but are now grown here in California. These Portuguese and Spanish varieties include Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Souzão, Castelão and Graciano.

MJA Vineyards

The story of MJA Vineyards brings you on an adventure. The founder, Marin John Artukovich – the “MJA,” comes from a long line of Croatian tradesmen and farmers, steeped in the culture of winemaking. Although he was the first generation of his family to be born in the US, Marin grew up with that same hard-working spirit that propelled his family forward. He worked alongside his father in their family business and spent his free time surfing and playing professional beach volleyball.

Summit Winery

Hidden high in the Santa Cruz Mountains lies a unique winery and vineyard operated by founder/winemaker Jerold O’Brien. Established in 1979, Silver Mountain Vineyards is located at an elevation of 2,100 feet and enjoys a spectacular view of the Monterey Bay and surrounding redwood forest.

Warm summer days and cool nights balance to produce a longer hang-time for our fruit, maximizing their flavor. The estate certified organic vineyard grows Mount Eden clone Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot. We also purchase additional Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes from sustainably farmed hillside vineyards. READ MORE
