Bunkhouse

The SHARE Bunkhouse Operates a Co-Ed Emergency Shelter and a SHARE2 Work-for-Housing program on site. The SHARE Bunkhouse provides simple, convenient and economical Self-Managed Shelter and Housing for homeless and formally homeless men and women.

Our goal is to provide individuals with housing, storage and hygiene facilities while they find employment, save money, and stabilize themselves enough to move into more stable housing while being in our program.

Bunkhouse Co-Ed Emergency Shelter:

While there is a desperate need for all forms of transitional housing and shelter at night in Seattle, homeless night workers in particular find housing and shelter resources extremely hard and limited. The Bunkhouse Co-Ed Emergency Shelter is a 24-hour program that allows for all workers to have a safe place to stay no matter what shift they work.

SHARE2 Work-for-Housing:

This is set aside for housing (8) SHARE 2 participants. This is a work for housing program for homeless men and women transitioning from SHARE’s shelter network into more stable housing.

All programs are responsible for self-managing their programs. Each

community runs its own home according to the rules and requirements set forth

in the Bunkhouse management plan. There is no time limit while living in a SHARE program.

The day to day Bunkhouse Operations are managed by SHARE, a grassroots organization of homeless and formally homeless men and women. SHARE has contracted with Catholic Housing Services, the Overseer for the premises from the owner, Washington Housing and Equity Alliance.
