Portal Curator Handbook

As the Portal Curator in your city, you are our eyes and ears on the ground.

1. Always arrive early

It is imperative that you arrive one hour early to every Portal opening. Things can and will go wrong, and this is our only time to remedy these problems.

2. Communicate

You will be part of a WhatsApp group with the curators in the cities you are connecting to. Use it to communicate with the Portal curator in the other city. When the Portal is open, e-mails and WhatsApp messages should be responded to as soon as possible.

3. Be friendly

People will ask a lot of questions. Most people will be friendly, but you are in a public space so you will meet all types of people. Provide them with pamphlets, when available. Be polite. If you can’t answer their questions, don’t worry! Just give them Shared_Studios’ e-mail, general@sharedstudios.com to follow up.

4. Read

Familiarize yourselves with the story of Portals by reading these articles and watching our overview video.

5. Ask for help locally and internationally

Your job is very important and it needs your full attention. Things will go wrong: the internet connection may drop, you may have trouble adjusting the projector image, and you will be multitasking as several points during the day. If you see that you need help, tell us as soon as possible. We will guide you and help you through it. We are here to help!
